Review of Port Authority - Youth Silk Touch Sport Shirt

Port Authority - Youth Silk Touch Sport ShirtBy law you are required to go to school. You are NOT required to wear whatever they tell you to though!

Think about it, you are in school as you are supposed to be, what can they do to you? They can not deny you an education based on the clothes you wear.

When I was in high-school, on a whim, the school board got the idea that all students should tuck in their shirts, even the girls! Out of the thousands of teenagers in my school, you'd think there would be many that would laugh off such a silly order. I was the only one. As soon as I got of the bus that morning there was a man from ROTC, in uniform checking to see if everyone was tucked!

When he spotted me, he told me to tuck in my shirt, I refused so he escorted me to the Vice-principal's office. The VP tried to get me to tuck as well. I refused. So he threatened to call my parents. I chuckled at the idea. He must have felt like an bafoon! "Ma'am your child came to school with his shirt untucked." Who cares!

My mother informed him that the last time she checked this wasn't a commun-ist country and I could wear my shirt however I wanted to.

The VP was over a barrel. He threatened to have me expelled. I laughed. Expel someone for an untucked shirt? That's a riot.

He called in the Principal and a bunch of other people whom I have no clue who they were! They stood around me in a circle and were pleading with me to tuck my shirt in! They had no way of convincing me to do this because I was not required under law to have a tucked in shirt! They kept on saying, "Just tuck it, come on and tuck it."

When it was obvious that I wasn't going to tuck they were crestfallen. They all left except the VP who then told me I could go to class. Over the intercom he relayed a message: Students are not required to tuck their shirts in, there was an error in interpreting the rule book!

So he lied to cover himself, fine with me. My fellow students didn't even believe me about this! They actually believed the VP's impromptu excuse!

In saying this, I'm not saying that they can't prevent you from wearing shirts with inappropriate sayings or pictures, or clothing that doesn't properly cover you. But as long as you wear suitable, decent clothes, they cannot deny you an education.

Don't be like my classmates that follow silly rules without questioning them. Most rules are good and for your own safety and betterment. Use your commonsense that G-o-d endowed you with to discern between the two.
